VISION STATEMENT: Pastoral Care Ministries of Community Mennonite Fellowship exists to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the body during times of rejoicing and mourning.
The Pastoral Care Commission consists of several sub-ministries including:
Pastoral Care – ministry to shut-ins, hospital and home visits, delivery of meals, flowers and other gifts.
Prayer Ministries – an intercessory prayer team covers church services in prayer, and pray with persons in Prayer Room and during anointing services, prayer gatherings, prayer-walking, and prayer shawl ministry.
How you can participate:
Do you enjoy being with people one-on-one? Maybe you’d like to be a part of the Pastoral Care Team. You can volunteer to visit someone in the hospital or an elderly person living in a nursing home. Or, you could take a meal to someone after surgery or deliver flowers. You can even volunteer to read to someone who no longer has good vision. These are the kinds of needs that members of the pastoral care team help to meet.
Maybe your passion is praying. You are welcome to join the intercessory prayer team. You may choose to participate in a variety of different prayer ministries that already exist, or God may be calling you to begin something new. CMF has a Prayer Room that is always available for your personal prayer on Sunday mornings and most weekdays. We also pray with persons who come for anointing on the first Sunday of each month. The prayer team sponsors intercessory prayer events several times a year. We have contemplative prayer retreats as well, during Lent and Advent. As a member of the prayer team, you may choose to participate in one or all of these ministries. Training is provided for team members.
If you are drawn to this ministry, please contact Pastoral Care to join this team. Training is provided for new volunteers and at least once a year there will be on-going training for the team.
